Coronavirus death toll grows in Afghanistan

Coronavirus pandemic was confirmed to have spread to Afghanistan when Herat first reported on COVID-19 case on February 24, 2020.

As of April 6, 2020, there were 423 positive cases, with 18 recoveries and 11 deaths across 22 provinces. Herat Province has the highest number of cases at 259, followed by Kabul Province with 71 cases, and then Kandahar Province with 21 cases.

The number of people infected with the coronavirus in Afghanistan was 56 over the past day, Report says, citing Tolo News.

According to the Afghan Ministry of Health, four more people died of the virus on the last day.

As of April 7, 423 people have tested positive for COVID-19, while 11 died.

Herat province has so far seen the highest number of infections.
