Coronavirus claims over 1,200 lives in US in one day

The novel coronavirus has claimed 1,258 lives in the United States in the past 24 hours, taking the death toll to 640,123 nationwide.

Report informs, citing Johns Hopkins, that the total tally has surpassed 39,201,000 people.

California is leading for the number of cases, with over 4,360,000 infections. The state is also a sad leader for deaths, with their number exceeding 65,000.

A total of 205,026,000 people in the United States have been vaccinated with their first dose, while 174,121 people received both doses.
