Chinese FM blames Trump for degradation of Beijing-US relations

Chinese State Councilor and Foreign Minister Wang Yi said that the degradation of relations between Washington and Beijing happened because of the actions of the administration of former US President Donald Trump, Report informs, referring to TASS.

In recent years, the minister pointed out that relations between China and the US ‘deviated from the normal path’ and ‘faced the most serious difficulties since the establishment of diplomatic relations’ between the countries.

"The key reason for this was that the previous US administration, based on its political interests, has seriously perverted China’s path to the future and policies towards it," Wang Yi said.

He noted that several steps to exert pressure on China, taken by the US side, had ‘immeasurable damage to bilateral relations.’

Besides, the Chinese foreign minister noted that US President Joe Biden’s administration ‘must abandon prejudices and unfounded suspicions about China’ to normalize the Chinese-US relations.
