China makes submission to US over expulsion of its diplomats

Chinese authorities have made a submission to the US regarding  the expulsion of two Chinese diplomats, 

Report informs with reference to TASS that Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Geng Shuang made the statement a regular briefing.

"This accusation is a serious distortion of the facts. The Chinese side has already made a presentation to the United States, protesting, " Shuang said.

The representative of the Chinese Foreign Ministry stressed that the US should adhere to the provisions of the Vienna Convention and ensure the protection of the rights of Chinese diplomats.

"We demand that the American side correct its mistakes," the Chinese foreign Ministry spokesman said.

Notably, US authorities secretly expelled from the country two employees of the Chinese Embassy, suspecting them of trying to enter the territory of the US military base in Norfolk (Virginia). The US has not expelled Chinese diplomats accused of spying for more than 30 years.
