China goes through peak of coronavirus infection

A representative of the Chinese health committee, Mi Feng, said that the country went through the peak of the coronavirus epidemic.

Report informs, citing RIA Novosti, that, according to him, there have been no new registered cases of infection with COVID-2019 over the past week in the Chinese province of Hubei except for the city of Wuhan.

Outside the named province, there are seven new officially registered cases, while the number of imported ones is six.

"These data indicate that, overall, the peak of this wave of epidemics in the country has already passed," said Mi Feng.

On December 31, 2019, Chinese authorities reported an outbreak of pneumonia in the city of Wuhan. The disease is caused by the new type of coronavirus - COVID-2019.

The day before, the World Health Organization (WHO) announced a global pandemic of a new type of coronavirus.
