Candidate for the post of Israeli Defense Minister named

REPORT.AZ/ The Jewish Home party intends to demand a portfolio of the Israeli Minister of Defense for Naftali Bennet, who now holds the post of Minister of Education, Report informs citing the Israeli media. It is noted that the party raised the issue of appointing Bennett as the Minister of Defense as a condition for the continued existence of the government.

Earlier, Avigdor Lieberman announced his resignation as the Israeli Defense Minister and called for early elections to the 21st Knesset in the near future.

"It makes no sense to paralyze the state for many months. I hope that already before November 18, an acceptable date for all early elections will be agreed upon, and let the voter decide what policy he considers correct,” Lieberman said.
