Canada to ease entry conditions for vaccinated compatriots

The Canadian authorities intend to soften the conditions of entry into the country for fully vaccinated fellow citizens from July, Report informs referring to CTV channel.

Canadians and citizens with a residence permit in the North American country who have completed an entire course of coronavirus vaccination will be able to avoid a two-week quarantine. To do this, it is necessary to pass a PCR test and wait for its results. In case of a negative result, it is possible not to comply with the prescribed 14-day self-isolation regime.

According to current regulations, all passengers arriving in Canada must provide a negative PCR test result no earlier than 72 hours before boarding a plane. In addition, upon arrival, they are required to pass a coronavirus test at the airport, after which, at their own expense, they must wait for the results of self-isolation at the hotel for at least three days. After receiving the results, these citizens are required to complete the 14-day quarantine at home for all visitors, even if the test result is negative.

Canada’s borders have been closed for foreigners to enter, with rare exceptions, since March 2020, but Canadians themselves are not prohibited from leaving the country.
