At least one was killed, nearly 90 are feared trapped under the rubble after the building collapse in Karnataka's Dharwad, southwestern India, Report informs citing the Times of India.
According to eye witnesses, building collapsed suddenly when as many as 150 people were inside shops of the first and second floors. Personnel of fire and emergency services, police and other departments have rushed to the spot.
Local residents alleged that the quality of the construction was low since the beginning.
Ten ambulances, rescue services and firefighters are reportedly working at the scene.
