Boris Johnson appears in court over Brexit claims

Former British Foreign Secretary Boris Johnson was summoned to court because of statements made on the eve of the Brexit referendum in 2016, Report reports citing RIA Novosti.

As noted, the lawsuit against Johnson, who is a candidate for Prime Minister in Britain, was filed by businessman Markus Ball.

Ball claims that the former foreign minister manipulated the facts and lied to the people, claiming that after leaving the EU, the country will receive 350 million pounds a week, which allegedly went to the EU before. However, according to the oligarch, Britain never paid such an amount to EU.

In this regard, Judge Coleman approved the petition for summoning Johnson to court. At the same time, the lawyers of the former foreign minister do not admit his guilt.
