Biden addresses Muslims on occasion of holy month

Joe Biden has addressed Muslims on the occasion of the new year according to the Islamic calendar, Report informs.

“Many of our Muslim friends and neighbors mark the Islamic New Year as an occasion to reflect, fast, and pray in honor of the historical sacrifices during the holy month of Muharram.

As we start this new year, let us recommit to the values of justice, equality, and compassion,” he tweeted.

Under the Gregorian calendar, the first day of the month of Muharram is on July 30.

So, according to the Hijri calendar, the year 1443 ends and the year 1444 begins.
