Bernie Sanders plans to run for US presidency in 2020

Baku. 27 November. REPORT.AZ/ US Senator Bernie Sanders may take part in the US presidential election in 2020, if he is the "best candidate" to win over the current President of the country Donald Trump, Report informs citing RIA Novosti.

He spoke in his interview to New York Magazine.

"If there's somebody else who appears who can, for whatever reason, do a better job than me, I'll work my ass off to elect him or her," Sanders recently told New York Magazine. "If it turns out that I am the best candidate to beat Donald Trump, then I will probably run," he said.

According to him, he does not wake up in the morning with any burning desire to be president.

Notably, Sanders ran for president of the United States in 2016, however during the primaries of the Democratic Party, he lost to Hillary Clinton, who ultimately lost to Trump in the general election. Sociological polls showed that Sanders was more popular than Trump.
