Belgium reported 325 coronavirus deaths in the last 24 hours, of which 114 were confirmed in the hospital.
“The other 211 died outside of the hospitals, mostly in residential care homes, according to foreign media.
Moreover, as many as 1,684 people tested positive for the virus as of April 10, taking the tally to 26,667.
The country recorded a total of 3,019 deaths related to COVID-19, the disease caused by the novel coronavirus, since the beginning of the pandemic.
Belgium extended its confinement measures until April 19.
The novel coronavirus (COVID-19) emerged in late 2019 in China’s Hubei province, and the virus has spread to 210 countries and territories since then.
To date, COVID-19 cases surpassed 1,600,000 globally, resulting in more than 350,000 recoveries and over 95,000 deaths.
On February 11, the WHO officially named the 2019 novel coronavirus (2019-nCoV) as COVID-19, and on March 11, declared it a pandemic.
