Austria to end restrictions for vaccinated people

The unvaccinated will stay in lockdown when Austria lifts its wider general lockdown on Sunday, Report informs, citing foreign media.

Starting Monday, December 13, culture, trade and body-related service providers may open for vaccinated in Austria. However, the gastronomy and hotel industry may only open from December 20, 2021. For unvaccinated, the lockdown continues to apply.

Mayor Michael Ludwig presented today in a press conference, which was also broadcast online, the further plan for Vienna after the lockdown.

Vienna will gradually reopen under strict conditions for vaccinated people.

Austria went into lockdown two weeks ago to counter a surge in daily COVID-19 infections to record levels, with restaurants, bars, theatres and non-essential shops shut to all but take-away business.
