"Australian authorities will allocate an additional $ 40 million to help families affected by bushfires," Australian Prime Minister Scott Morrison said.

"Package of more than $58 million in support for families would also help stimulate bushfire affected communities," a post on the Prime Minister's website says.

An extra $400 for each child that has qualified for the Australian Government Disaster Recovery Payment in fire-ravaged towns and regions, as well as more food vouchers, financial assistance, and support services, will help Australians affected by the ongoing bushfire disaster.

The Government will deliver an extra $400 to families for each child aged under 16 who are eligible for the Australian Government Disaster Recovery Payment (AGDRP).
