Ambassador: Panama developed laws to prevent violence against women

Panama pays special attention to women’s rights and their protection from violence, for which special laws have been adopted, Ambassador of Panama to Azerbaijan, Mariela del Carmen Sagel Rosas, said at the international conference on empowering women in Baku, Report informs.
“Panama has made enormous efforts to protect women’s rights. We have introduced sanctions and laws to prevent violence against women. Panama plans to implement large-scale projects in this direction by 2024. In addition, the country has created a Ministry of Women’s Affairs. We are also actively working to prevent the spread of AIDS among underage girls and eliminate the problem of early pregnancy,” she noted.
