Activists from Greenpeace protest against usage of coal in Polish energy sector

Environmentalists from Greenpeace climbed on the roof of the building of the ruling Polish party "Law and justice" (PiS), Report informs citing the RIA Novosti.

They protest against the active use of coal in the Polish energy sector.

Several Greenpeace activists climbed onto the roof of the building on Novgorodskaya street and almost completely covered the facade of the building with huge pieces of black cloth having the slogans: "Poland without coal 2030".

At the same time, Polish division of Greenpeace posted message a message on Twitter : "We have 11 years to avoid a climate catastrophe. Poland must give up coal by 2030."

Greenpeace claims that the ruling party did not use climate protection issues in its election program.

At present, coal is the fuel for about 80% of Polish energy.
