About 300,000 people in Japan have been ordered to evacuate, Report informs, citing Sky News and Japan's Fire and Disaster Management Agency.
Aftershocks are continuing on Kyushu Island, where an earthquake earlier struck the region. Residents have been instructed to move to evacuation centers.
According to the TV channel, hundreds of soldiers have been deployed to the area to carry out rescue operations.
A magnitude 7.1 earthquake struck southern Japan"s Kumamoto Prefecture on Kyushu Island on July 28. The tremors caused damage and power outages, while authorities issued a tsunami warning that was later lifted.
According to preliminary reports, at least one person was killed and more than 100 others were injured.
