9 NATO countries call to increase military aid to Ukraine

Nine NATO countries (Poland, Czech Republic, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, North Macedonia, Montenegro, Romania, Slovakia) called for a substantial increase in military aid to Ukraine, Report informs via RBC-Ukraine.

"We firmly support the decision of the NATO summit held in Bucharest in 2008 regarding Ukraine's future membership. We demand the immediate withdrawal of Russia from all occupied territories and call on all allies to significantly increase military aid to Ukraine," the NATO members said in a joint statement.

They noted that they do not and will never recognize the Russian annexation of Ukrainian territories.

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky signed an application to accelerate his country's NATO accession. Although Ukraine's decision is already supported by four countries - Canada, Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia - the procedure requires unanimous approval of all 30 members of the Alliance.
