The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia has issued a statement following the meeting of the Ministers of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan, Russia and Armenia - Elmar Mammadyarov, Sergey Lavrov and Zohrab Mnatsakanyan.

Report informs referring to the press service of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs that the statement reads: "In furtherance of the agreements reached by President of Azerbaijan I.H. Aliyev and Prime Minister of Armenia N.V. Pashinyan at the Vienna summit on March 29, 2019, the meeting participants discussed the situation on the border and the contact line, as well as the prospects for establishing cooperation in the humanitarian field.

"A thorough exchange of views on key aspects of the settlement took place.

"In particular, the Foreign Ministers of Azerbaijan and Armenia confirmed the intention of the parties to continue efforts to resolve the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict through political and diplomatic means.

"The sides demonstrated interest in stabilizing the situation in the conflict zone, in particular during agricultural works. They also agreed mutually to take measures for the admission of relatives to persons imprisoned in the territory of the parties. The ministers expressed readiness to start practical work on establishing contacts between people, including reciprocal visits of media representatives," the statement reads.

The Russian Foreign Ministry indicated that Sergey Lavrov and the OSCE Minsk Group co-chairs reiterated their commitment to the mediation mission aimed at achieving sustainable peace in the region.

The meeting participants agreed to continue contacts in the near future.
