Ambassador: Russia, as OSCE MG country, supports contacts between Foreign Ministers of Azerbaijan and Armenia

Baku. 24 December. REPORT.AZ/ "I am cautiously optimistic that next year a more favorable atmosphere will be created on the Nagorno-Karabakh settlement," Russian ambassador to Azerbaijan Mikhail Bocharnikov stated at a press conference, commenting on the issue of the prospects for resolving the conflict for the next year.

The ambassador recalled that the foundations for this had already been laid this year, when the foreign ministers of Azerbaijan and Armenia met.

"Most recently, I heard the assessments of Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Elmar Mammadyarov on this topic, and I know that the next meeting is scheduled for January. We in Russia welcome this emerging trend and, as a co-chair country of the Minsk Group, we will continue to support such meetings”, Bocharnikov said.
