On March 22, the President of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, Mr. Arif Alvi received a delegation of the Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Azerbaijan that is on a visit to this country, Report informs citing the Defense Ministry of Azerbaijan.
Expressing gratitude for the reception, the Minister of Defense Colonel General Zakir Hasanov conveyed warm words of welcome and best wishes from the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan to Mr. Arif Alvi. The Minister of Defense, noting that our country attaches great importance to relations, in particular, military cooperation with Pakistan, stressed the importance of expanding cooperation in the field of security, military, military-technical, military-educational and other spheres.
The President of Pakistan Arif Alvi, in turn, asked to convey his warm words of welcome and deep respect to the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan. Pakistan’s President, noting the high level of interstate relations, as well as friendly relations between the two peoples, stressed the importance of developing cooperation in the field of defense, military-technical and other areas.
President A.Alvi, expressing satisfaction with Pakistan’s support for Azerbaijan in the settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, and noting that this will continue, stressed that Pakistan does not recognize Armenia as a state due to the occupation of Azerbaijani lands.
During the meeting, the parties also exchanged views on other issues of interest.
