Baku. 16 January. REPORT.AZ/ "Iran considers Karabakh as Azerbaijani territory and supports the territorial integrity of Azerbaijan," Chief of the General Staff of the Islamic Republic of Iran, General Lieutenant Mohammad Bagheri said.

Report informs that he spoke during the meeting with the President Ilham Aliyev as a part of his visit to Azerbaijan on January 16.

Chief of the General Staff said that Iran would continue to support the territorial integrity of Azerbaijan: "Changing the borders by force is unacceptable, and Iran is always by its side on this issue."

President Ilham Aliyev asked to extend his gratitude to the Iranian leadership for this fraternal position and said that Azerbaijan highly appreciates the fair position of the Iranian side. The head of state informed Mohammad Bagheri about the destruction of historical and religious monuments of Azerbaijan in the territories occupied by Armenians.
