The world should recognize the massacre committed 28 years ago in Azerbaijan's Khojaly as genocide, Georgian parliament member Azer Suleymanov said.
Report's local bureau informs that, according to him, there is evidence proving the events as genocide.
"We should commemorate the Khojaly tragedy not only once a year, during its anniversary, but also throughout the year, and we should convey the truth about the massacre to the world community," he said.
Suleymanov mentioned that he had repeatedly addressed the Georgian Parliament regarding the Khojaly genocide raising the issue of assessment of this tragedy.
The MP added that broad-scale awareness campaigns are needed to deliver the realities of Khojaly to the Georgian public.
