Azerbaijan bids farewell to martyred soldier - PHOTO - UPDATED

Martyred soldier Ibrahim Valiyev has been buried at the Martyrs' Alley in Gelme village of Zardab.

A funeral is being held today in Zardab district for Azerbaijani border guard Valiyev Ibrahim Alamshah, Report informs.

Family members, representatives of the State Border Service, officials of Zardab District Executive Power, the staff of Zardab and Kalbajar departments of the State Service for Mobilization and Conscription, and public representatives have come together to bid farewell to the man, who sacrificed his life for the homeland.

The martyred soldier will be buried in the Alley of Martyrs in Zardab district's Gelme village.

Ibrahim was born in 2001 to a family of internally displaced persons, who now live in Zardab district. There were three siblings in the family - Ibrahim had an older sister and a younger brother. Valiyev's family now lives in a building of the Water and Melioration Service of Zardab. Ibrahim's father, Alamshah Valiyev, has long suffered from a chronic disease.

On 24 February, Armenians attempted a provocation firing at the contact line. They used grenade launchers and other large-caliber arms when shooting at Azerbaijani positions.

As the Azerbaijani side took retaliatory steps, Armenians retreated, having lost one serviceman. Another officer of the hostile army sustained a severe wound.

Ibrahim, who was standing at the guard of Azerbaijani border, died heroically as a result of that provocation.
