The Armenian Foreign Ministry has revoked the accreditation of Ilya Azara, an employee of Novaya Gazeta, who was sent to the occupied Nagorno-Karabakh region to work as a journalist.
According to Report, the journalist shared this on his Facebook page:
"The Armenian Foreign Ministry abolished my accreditation, took away my accreditation card, and banned my journalistic activities here. The unofficial and foremost reason is yesterday's article. According to the Foreign Ministry official, the report caused a negative response in public. I think that the reportage should immerse the reader into the atmosphere of the scene. The journalist should be the eyes and ears of the reader. There are no fake facts in the article. "
Notably, Ilya Azar, a correspondent of the Russian newspaper Novaya Gazeta, interviewed a French citizen of Armenian origin who fought in Karabakh.
