"Azerbaijan is probably one of the countries in need of the most important and serious measures for the number of refugees and internally displaced persons," Deputy Prime Minister Ali Ahmadov told reporters.

He regretfully noted that despite the difficult situation, international organizations did not take effective steps to resolve the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict and return of IDPs to their homeland. "International organizations, first of all the OSCE Minsk Group co-chairs, should increase their efforts to resolve the conflict so that Azerbaijani internally displaced persons could return to their home country."

The Deputy Prime Minister recalled that Azerbaijan is one of the countries, which has many refugees: "According to the information, there are more than 70 million refugees and internally displaced people in the world, which makes 1 percent of the world's population. 1 million refugees and internally displaced persons live in Azerbaijan, which makes 10 percent of the country's population. This situation remains unchanged for about 30 years. "
