Future look of Baku Zoo after reconstruction - PHOTO

Photos of how the new Baku Zoo will look like after reconstruction have been revealed, Report informs.

The project, implemented by ArchiCO, was launched in 2018 with the support of the IDEA Public Association, under the initiative of Vice President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation Leyla Aliyeva.

The total territory of the zoo will increase by two hectares, from 2.25 to 4.25.

Instead of previously closed cages, the animals will have more spacious ones, designed not to limit their movement.

Besides, the zoo will be equipped with a veterinary clinic. All animals, birds, and fish will be kept in conditions that comply with the standards of the European Association of Zoos and Aquaria (EAZA).

The new zoo will have a major aqua terrarium for fish and amphibians.

There will be a pet farm and a “Butterfly House” for children.
