Ombudsman appeals to relevant authorities over television channels

Baku. 27 February. REPORT.AZ/ Along with the incoming appeals the Azerbaijani Ombudsman also conducts investigation on violation of children's rights based on the information contained in the press.

Report informs that this is reflected in the annual report of the Ombudsman for 2018. It was noted that an appeal had been made to the relevant bodies to control the spread of information that can harm children's psyche or provide them at certain times, as provided by the law.

The Commissioner has suggested to make additions and changes to the existing media laws to prevent the harmful information on media, the Internet websites and other means.

The document noted that the adoption of the Bill on Juvenile Justice should be accelerated to protect the rights and interests of children who are in conflict with the law.
