Deadline for submitting documents to CEC expires today

The deadline for submitting election documents to the Constituency Election Commission (CEC), which are required for registration of a candidate for early elections to the Milli Majlis, ends at 18:00 today.

According to Articles 58.1 and 94.3.1 of the Election Code, a candidate or his authorized representative, an authorized representative of a political party, or a bloc of political parties must submit their election documents no later than 50 or at least 30 days before election day. In other words, due to early elections to Milli Majlis, which are scheduled for February 9 this year, this process covers the period from December 21, 2019, to 18.00, January 10, 2020.

Early parliamentary elections will take place on February 9, 2020, in line with the Decree of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan dated December 5, 2019.
