Azerbaijani Parliament discussing VAT exemption for import, sale of paper, books

The Milli Majlis is holding a public hearing on the bill on amendments to the Tax Code.

According to Report, the hearing is attended by MPs, heads of publishing and printing centers, bookstores, media outlets.

In line with the amendments to the Tax Code, the import and sale of media products and books (except for e-books), as well as textbooks, the list of which is approved by the body (institution) determined by the relevant executive authority, related to the production (publication) of these goods (products), import and sale of the paper in rolls or sheets, editorial, publishing and printing activities (excluding advertising services) related to the production of printed media products and books, including e-books, as well as textbook sets will not be subject to VAT.

Exchange of views is held around the bill.
