"Azerbaijan is the close partner of NATO and works closely with the Alliance to restore international peace and security," NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg said during a meeting of the foreign ministers of Alliance member-states held in Washington on April 3-4.
He said that by sending its peacekeeping troops and providing its allies within NATO with overland, air and railway transportation, for example, the transit by Baku-Tbilisi-Kars railway line, Azerbaijan makes a large contribution to NATO mission in Afghanistan. It all constitutes the success of the NATO mission. "And all our partners including in the Caucasian region, make a valuable contribution to our mission," Stoltenberg said.
