MoD on bringing Azerbaijani army in line with Turkish model

An official of the Defense Ministry spoke about the work on bringing the Azerbaijani army in line with the model of the Turkish Armed Forces.

Report informs that the deputy chief of the press service of the ministry, Lieutenant Colonel Anar Eyvazov, noted that in order to move the Azerbaijani army to a new stage of development in conformity with the model of modern armies, the organizational and staff structures have been streamlined, the command of the Land Forces and a new military association have been created.

In order to increase the level of operational and combat readiness of the units, deployed in the liberated territories, as well as to carry out combat missions in special conditions, operational military units (commandos) have been created, he added.

"The appropriate commando training courses in Turkey were conducted. This process continues now.

"Based on the analysis of the experience gained in the Patriotic War, new combat instructions are being developed taking into account the model of the Turkish Armed Forces. The involvement of a significant number of military personnel in courses, organized with the participation of officers of the Turkish Armed Forces raised the training of specialists to a new level," Anar Eyvazov emphasized.

Anar Eyvazov also said that the participation of the Azerbaijani military in bilateral drills with Turkey, within the framework of NATO programs, including in the International Army Games, is envisaged.
