Decisive retaliatory measures are being taken by units of the Azerbaijani Army, Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov said in a telephone conversation with Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu.
During the telephone conversation, Bayramov gave detailed information to the Turkish side about the large-scale provocations of Armenia on the Azerbaijan-Armenia border starting from the night of September 12.
He said that Armenia fired on Azerbaijani positions, continued mining of Azerbaijani territories, and expanded the process of militarization in the region during the last month. It was stated that decisive response measures were taken by the units of the Azerbaijan Army in order to prevent the provocation of the armed forces of Armenia and military threats to the territory and sovereignty of Azerbaijan and to ensure the safety of the Azerbaijani military personnel, including civilian workers involved in infrastructure works.
Turkish Foreign Minister Cavusoglu stressed that military tensions and provocations are a cause for concern and the importance of fulfillment of Armenia's obligations within the framework of the agreements reached.
During the telephone conversation, the ministers discussed other regional issues.
