Member of Armenian intelligence-sabotage group detained in Kalbajar fought against Azerbaijan in 44-day Patriotic War – UPDATED 

According to preliminary investigations, the member of the intelligence-sabotage group of the Armenian armed forces detained thanks to vigilance of the units of the Azerbaijani Army on August 16 at around 11:15 a.m., is Voskanyan Gagik Ashotovich, 1983, Report informs, citing the Ministry of Defense.

When he was detained, he had one RPK machine gun, ammunition, and military equipment.

Voskanyan admitted his participation in the 44-day Patriotic War.

Armenian saboteur, who had a light wound, received first aid.

On August 16, at about 11:15, in order to commit provocative terrorist operations a reconnaissance-sabotage group of the Armenian armed forces attempted to advance into the territory of Azerbaijan, using the gaps between the combat positions of the Azerbaijani Army stationed in the direction of the Istisu settlement of the Kalbajar district, Report informs, citing the Defense Ministry.

Due to the vigilance of the Azerbaijani Army units, with the support of firepower, the provocation of the Armenian servicemen was suppressed. As a result, one member of the sabotage group was wounded and detained by the Azerbaijani servicemen. Other members of the reconnaissance-sabotage group were forced to retreat.
