Many women became the victims of the Russian rapes in Ukraine, Ukrainian Interior Minister Denys Monastyrsky said in an interview with Report.
"Unfortunately, many of them were later killed. Therefore, the procedure is now carried out as follows: when a woman's body is found, first the cause of death is determined, and then sent for examination to check for rape. All this takes a long time. Therefore, we cannot say the exact number today. I can say that dozens of criminal cases have been launched on such facts," the minister said.
According to him, most of the women who escaped from the occupied territories went to other countries, such as Poland, Bulgaria and others: "We collect certain information about the existence of such facts from what is written on the Internet, the words of relatives of such women. Therefore, we ask women who have left the country to inform the special joint international investigation team. They can do it from the country where they are. Often the victims prefer not to talk about it so as not to remember those moments again. The cases we have identified are only a small part of these crimes. The number of victims of these crimes will increase as women gradually testify."
