'House of News' museum opens in Madrid

Baku. 25 March. REPORT.AZ/ Spanish international news agency EFE has launched a “House of News” museum.

The country`s acting Prime Minister Mariano Rajoy attended the opening ceremony, Report informs.

The museum aims to spread the rich photographic and documentary collection possessed by the Spanish news agency, and to become a living and open field for other cultural and educational exhibitions. The museum will also be a meeting point for journalists as well as students who have a passion to find out the progress of the means of communication at the hands of EFE professionals.

The EFE museum will also showcase the news agency`s legacy of 77 years since its inception, its contribution as a news agency to Spanish journalism, and its testimony about the great events that have marked Spanish and world history since the twentieth century, as well as people`s everyday lives.

The “House of News” includes 12 million photographs dating back to 1857, in addition to millions of documents.
