Baku. 6 October. REPORT.AZ/ Baku has today hosted a conference titled "The role of the media in the preservation and development of Azerbaijani literary language", organized by the Presidential Administration and the National Television and Radio Council (NTRC).

Report informs, Assistant to the President for Public and Political Affairs Ali Hasanov, Chairman of the National Television and Radio Council Nushiravan Maharramli, Chairman of Azerbaijan Press Council Aflatun Amashov and public members attended the event.

Addressing the event, Assistant to the Azerbaijani President for Public and Political Affairs Ali Hasanov noted that preservation of the Azerbaijani language is an important issue. He spoke about steps taken by Heydar Aliyev to preserve the literary language.

The Presidential Assistant added that problems exist regarding literary language norms.

NTRC Chairman Nushiravan Maharramli and Chairman of Azerbaijan Press Council Aflatun Amashov, Chairman of the Broadcasting Council of Public Television and Radio Broadcasting Company, Director of the Folklore Institute of Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences (ANAS) Mukhtar Imanov, Director of the ANAS Institute of Linguistics named after Nasimi, Mohsun Naghisoylu spoke about the current situation in this area.

The event was continued with speeches.
