Azerbaijan allocates 600,000 AZN for 5 TV channels each - LIST

Baku. 5 February. REPORT.AZ/ 600,000 AZN were allocated for each of 5 private TV channels in Azerbaijan.

Report informs, the decision was made at a regular meeting of the National Television and Radio Council on February 5.

According to a decree signed on 17 January by the President of Azerbaijan on granting one-time financial assistance to private broadcasters in Azerbaijan, in order to provide additional support for private public TV and radio broadcasters via Azerspace-1 satellite and other means, 3 (three) million manats allocated to the National Television and Radio Council of the Republic of Azerbaijan from the Reserve Fund of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan provided for by the state budget of 2019. 600,000 (six hundred thousand) manats were paid to each private national television broadcaster ("Lider TV", "Khazar TV", "ATV", "ARB 24" LLC, "Space TV").

The meeting also decided to create a new broadcasting package (34th TV channel in Baku and Absheron peninsula) in connection with the introduction of high quality digital broadcasting in Public Television in Full HD format.
