Zakir Hasanov advises writers about Patriotic War

"As a Minister of Defense and a long-serving serviceman, I would like to clarify one issue. During the fighting, we witnessed the low level of readiness of the personnel of the Armenian armed forces and their fugitiveness under challenging situations. But we must also admit that the Armenian army was not as weak and powerless as many thought. They could fully strengthen the occupied territories in terms of military engineering and fortification during the 30-year occupation. The enemy had enough weapons and military equipment in the area. I wonder how a country with a weak economy could have so many weapons?" Azerbaijani Defense Minister Colonel-General Zakir Hasanov said.

The Defense Minister stressed that Armenia had acquired so many weapons to fight and significantly resisted in most directions of the front: "They had a large arsenal of weapons, command and control posts, and headquarters. The various supply routes built in those areas and the extensive military infrastructure were designed for long-term fighting. At the same time, they controlled about 95% of the strategic heights in the area."

"Over the years, Armenians worldwide, including the Armenian lobby and their patrons, have spent large sums of money on the Armenians' dominance in possible military operations, strengthening the separatist regime, the Armenian army, and illegal armed groups. Therefore, the Armenian army units were able to resist enough. The enemy was helpless only in the face of the Azerbaijani Army's determination to win, fighting spirit, professionalism, strength, and equipment.
