Baku. 11 January. REPORT.AZ/ "If we have de-escalation in rhetoric then it is possible to restart the peace process," expert on South Caucasus, British journalist Thomas de Vaal said.
He noted the improvement of the situation in conflict settlement: "I just see the improvement of the situation. I see some de-escalation in rhetoric between 2 sides. So I think the new government in Armenia can refresh its thinking and there is more contact between 2 sides, but still unfortunately the positions of the 2 sides is still dramatically opposite. They are completely very far from one another. There is a long way for resolution."
Thomas de Vaal stressed his support for the efforts to resolve the conflict step by step
