Ukraine major-general: Armenia’s refusal to hand over maps of minefields to Azerbaijan - violation of norms and conventions

The refusal of the Armenian side to transfer maps of minefields is a violation of international norms and conventions, Major General, former Deputy Chairman of the Security Service of Ukraine Mykhailo Hluhovsky told Caliber.Az, Report informs.

"Of course, I would like the issue to be resolved diplomatically. After all, demining without any mine maps is a difficult matter. If it doesn’t work out, it is necessary to contact international organizations. The United Nations is most actively involved in this, there are special structures," he said.

He added that "a separate issue is civilian casualties. How to convince people not to visit these territories now? We faced a similar situation in Ukraine, and are now conducting active explanatory work in Donetsk (in the Donetsk region of Ukraine, there are 'gray zones' where people are trying to cross into - ed.). It requires a lot of volunteers."
