Swedish Foreign Minister welcomes end of hostilities in Karabakh

Swedish Foreign Minister Ann Linde highly appreciated the statement on Nagorno-Karabakh signed on November 10. Report informs, she addressed at the 27th meeting of the OSCE Council of Foreign Ministers.

"The escalation of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict and the tragic loss of life are risks inherent in unresolved conflicts. We hope that through a ceasefire agreement, negotiations led by the OSCE Minsk Group co-chairs will reach a sustainable political solution that will prevent human suffering," Linde stressed.

The Swedish Foreign Minister also outlined the priorities of her country's chairmanship in the OSCE next year. "We pay special attention to democracy in the field of human rights and gender equality and contribute to the resolution of conflicts in our region. I look forward to working with all of you to try to achieve these goals," the minister concluded.

As a reminder, from January 1, 2021, the OSCE chairmanship will pass from Albania to Sweden.
