"The Nagorno-Karabakh conflict must be solved only by political means, not by force."
According to the Russian bureau of Report, the statement came from Dmitry Medvedev, Deputy Chairman of the Russian Security Council.
"New tensions in the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict region have again led to bloodshed and loss of life. The sides cannot resolve the problem by force. The solution must be achieved only through political and diplomatic means. Every effort must be made to overcome this crisis. In particular, mediation within the OSCE Minsk Group or a bilateral format should be launched. We must take into account that Armenia and Azerbaijan are our neighbors and close partners," he wrote on his social network page.
