Russia expects that the process of mine clearance in Nagorno-Karabakh will be accelerated, Report's Russian bureau informs, citing Spokesperson of the Russian Foreign Ministry Maria Zakharova who spoke at a weekly briefing.

"We call for the resolution of demining issues, including the exchange of information on minefields. We hope that this process will be accelerated," Zakharova said.

"The problem of demining is the most dangerous. Russia makes a significant contribution to the post-conflict demining process in Nagorno-Karabakh and adjacent areas. About 26,000 explosive elements were found, and more than 2,000 hectares were cleared through the efforts of the Russian peacekeeping contingent. The Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations is taking similar measures," Zakharova said.
