President: Liberation of Talish village has special place among Azerbaijan's successful operations

Exactly one year ago, the Azerbaijani Army liberated the Talish village from occupants, President of Azerbaijan, the victorious Commander-in-Chief Ilham Aliyev said, while raising the flag of Azerbaijan in the Talish village of Tartar on October 3.

"After one year, I am here, in the Talish village, and I have raised the flag of Azerbaijan in the Talish village," the head of state said.

"A year ago, this place saw fierce fighting, and we gave martyrs. May all of our martyrs rest in peace! The liberation of the Talish village has a special place among our successful operations because very strong fortifications were built here, the enemy had built several lines of defense here, and, of course, they were waiting for us here. In many operations, we counterattacked from places the enemy did not expect. But in this direction, the battlefield here is quite narrow, quite limited, so, of course, the enemy was waiting for us here, and we came, we came no matter what. We came with bloodshed and martyrs; we liberated the villages of Talish and Sugovushan exactly a year ago. It gave us a great strategic advantage. It once again showed that the Armenian army is weak, unable to confront the Azerbaijani Army, and victory is not far away. Today, the sovereignty of Azerbaijan in this region is fully ensured, and great infrastructure work has been done within a year. The main thing is that the citizens of Azerbaijan will live here in peace and tranquility. Of course, we will restore the village of Talish and revive life here," President Aliyev said.
