President: Good level of interaction established between peacekeepers, Azerbaijani military

A good level of interaction has been established between Russian peacekeepers, temporarily stationed in the liberated territories, and Azerbaijani servicemen, Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev said at a meeting with participants of the international conference 'South Caucasus: Development and Cooperation,' Report informs.

“Basically, in the area which is now under control of the Russian peacekeepers, the situation for one year and a half is stable. There’ve been some tensions on the border, between Azerbaijan and Armenia in the past, now it’s also stable,” Ilham Aliyev noted.

“In general, Russian peacekeepers provide very important transportation facilities for us, because we use that territory which is under their control to bring cargoes to Kalbajar, because otherwise the road through the Omar mountains is very difficult, we are building a 12-kilometer tunnel but it is not ready.”
