Peter Michalko says EU supports rehabilitation projects in Azerbaijan

"The European Union (EU) supports mine clearance and rehabilitation projects in the liberated territories of Azerbaijan. Hundreds of EU companies are interested in the restoration of conflict-affected areas and are active in this direction," Head of the EU Delegation to Azerbaijan Peter Michalko said at the Azerbaijan-EU Business Forum in Baku.

The ambassador reminded that the EU is Azerbaijan's largest trading partner: "The trade turnover between the EU and Azerbaijan amounted to 15 billion euros last year. We hope that these figures will increase," he said.

He noted that the EU is ready to cooperate in the framework of the "Smart Village" project, "green energy" and agricultural development, and pays special attention to twinning projects.
