"I hope that the signing of a statement considering a cessation of hostilities in the Nagorno-Karabakh region will protect the lives of civilians in the conflict zone," said Giorgi Tsereteli, President of the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly.
According to the local bureau of Report, he expressed his condolences to those killed in the war and called on the sides to immediately begin exchanging bodies and prisoners of war.
In Tsereteli's opinion, the path to lasting peace is sometimes more difficult than war:
"I call on all parties to reaffirm their commitment to peace talks to ensure the safe return of IDPs and refugees, to achieve a comprehensive settlement of the conflict, and to build a common future."
