"I was saddened by the destructions in Aghdam. Comparing Aghdam to the photos of the past, we can see that it is a ghost city", New Zealand's newly-appointed Ambassador to Azerbaijan Wendy Hinton told Report.

The ambassador travelled to the liberated Aghdam today with other diplomats accredited in Azerbaijan and Turkey.

The ambassador added that New Zealand companies might be interested in some aspects of reconstruction in the liberated territories.

"New Zealand has specialized technology, as well as agricultural technology, technologies in sustainable energy, which I know you are interested in," she added.

Regarding the development of economic relations, Wendy Hinton said New Zealand is already selling butter and wine to Azerbaijan.

"I think we have only a small trade between us at the moment, but hopefully we can expand it as time goes by," the ambassador added.
