Moscow: Karabakh conflict can be resolved solely through political and diplomatic means

"Russia continues to play an active role in mediation efforts to resolve the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict," the Russian Foreign Ministry said in a statement regarding the official visit of Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov to Azerbaijan, Report informs.

"Assistance to the parties in the Nagorno-Karabakh settlement is among the Russian foreign policy priorities and is in the spotlight of Russian President's attention. We rely on the fact that the conflict can be settled solely through political and diplomatic means, through dialogue between the parties. We will further assist with solutions both within the OSCE Minsk Group on Nagorno-Karabakh settlement and in a national quality with respect to our close relations with Azerbaijan and Armenia," the statement reads.
